Thank you, Scouter Ron. I haven't been lurking in this conference too
long myself and have quite enjoyed my stay.
The two aspects to KIS-MIF are equally important I believe. KIS (keep
it simple) does not imply that the work is shallow or meaningless but
that it should not be so involved or complicated that a boy would shy
away from attempting it. Even if a lad was unable to complete the work
he would have gained something by trying. We don't want to turn
someone off. The MIF (make it fun) can mean different things to
different people: a challenge to some, a reflection of themselves to
others, an 'I always wanted to...' or 'that looks neat' to many. If
it's _not_ fun, why do it?
Glad to see you're so active in Scouting. Same here. Somebody made it
fun for us, now we're making it fun for others, and in return we have
more fun ourselves.
Have a nice day, and thanks for sending some of that warm Alabama air
up north where we can really use it!
