Gosh no. But then he's not squeamish about demonstrators in the streets of
Uzbekistan being cut down with machine guns nor has he any special feelings
wrt Israel. Heck if Hamas took over & turned Tel Aviv into Grozhny he'd
probably raise an interested eyebrow & that's about it.

It's about big power politics. Various coffers are overflowing with
Chinese, US & EU petro-dollars. That very much includes Russia. Equally
your treasure is being expended in the same high oil prices, cheaper
chinese goods & a very costly war.

The tectonic plates of power are on the move. It's why drones are so dangerous.

As an example, what does Russia have to lose from say 100-150 USD per
barrel oil if the Iran thing rumbles towards some sort of sanctions?

Lots more cash for Putin & Russia & lots less for his adversaries
all of whom (US, EU, PRC & India) are major oil & gas importers.

I suspect the PRC would rather see a nuclear Iran than 150 USD oil.

Amusingly that puts a huge amount of power into the hands of the Saudis. Ah
how the world turns...the Saudis decide not to increase supply to counter
any effects of Iran exporting enough & the poor in India & China
really have to pay for the US/west's insistence on Iran sanctions.

That's great PR...see how the west has caused your problems, lost you your
jobs.....now your children might starve....oh joy the seething masses.
