gr> I got a disk returned to me and a scan said that the virus
gr> ANTICMOS (Boot virus) was present. I was not game enough to
gr> explore the disk any further. Still, I would like to know what
gr> this virus does and how to eradicate it from the disk.
It's a boot sector infector that will infect a system only if a boot
is attempted from the infected floppy.
If it's a floppy that's infected, format the floppy to eliminate the
virus. If it's a hard drive, any of the popular AV packages will get
rid of it.
