PF> What's more, I keep thinking about my next trip to the library.
PF> Will I pick up Along Came The Spider? Probably.
dr> Me too. It's on my list of to look for books my next trip
dr> to the library.
It was on the shelf when I took out "Kiss The Girls" but I
didn't want to take out two books by an author that was new
to me. It will probably be checked-out when I look for it.
Not that I'm a pessimist or anything...
dr> Travis McGee lives aboard a boat called the Busted Flush and
dr> has a friend by the name of Meyer. I think he does have money.
I think Susan Bulla was right... I was thinking of Lawrence
Sanders' McNally series. I've added the Travis McGee series
to my list. Thanks!
dr> We too have suddenly been having a heat wave. The sweats are back in
dr> the drawer and short sleeves are back. Crazy weather, but Southern Cal.
dr> is notorious for that. Never know how to dress from one day to the
dr> next.
And I thought it was Southern Cal that always had mild
temperatures. I've never been to California. New Orleans area
weather is ever-changing, too. People often blame cold and flu
epidemics on drastic weather changes. We're having a stretch of
cool, dry weather. For me, that's always a welcome change.
Our winter temperatures don't compare to the freezing temperatures
of the northern states. I worked at the N.O. Int'l Airport for
11 years before moving to the country, and many people who visited
this area during the winter said they couldn't wait to get back
to the freezing temperatures back home. I guess our humid cold
kind of chills to the bone.
As for our summers, there were similar feelings expressed by
visitors. Many said that they could feel the humidity when the
plane started it's descent. I don't know about that but I know
that when you step off of the plane into the terminal, the
humidity seems pretty thick.
