The most common definition for echo hijacking is when someone
"steals" the listing from the listed moderator. The next most
popular useage is when
someone relists and echo that's expired(but that is NOT a correct use of the word).

GP> How? What? But? Why? :(

Look at the path and see who is gating the echo....or try a google search
for your echo name.

GP> This seems a clear abuse of Fidonet, am I right?

No...most echoes do not belong to fidonet...so porting them to the internet is
not an abuse of fidonet.

Your echolist doesn't say anything about not ating the echo to the
Internet...so, not one knows that you don't want it done.

Thus, if you compalined to the node gating it, that node could simply say
that since you didn't say they couldn't, they can.

I'd suggest you change the echolist to prohibit gating to the Internet
before you start complaining to whoever is doing it.
