I'm a mountain biker as well, and in a way I see why you want a specific
area, but I don't think it is quite appropriate here. A mountain bike area
would only have a couple of messages in it -- look at how few messages we
have as it is. Secondly, many of the people here are in to both mountain
biking and road riding, or are casual hybrid riders who don't really fall
into either category, but are safe in this general message area.
I don't think I have to remind you that bikers are constantly suffering
political persecution from HOHAS and others insensitive to our concerns.
I think we need to keep a solid front. I can learn from reading messages
posted by roadies, they can learn from us, and I don't think we want to
jeopardize our already small forum for bikers.
When there start to be 1000 messages a day in BIKENET, then I think the
time will have come to split the echo :-)
