subject: Transmission Flush

Hey all,
I'm just wondering if the transmission should be flushed versus drained. I
had heard a lot of talk with the process to flush and the caustic fluid
used which could harm. In talking to the mechanics at the lube shop, he
assures me this is not the case. I had it done on another vehicle and it
was fine. I think the machine used may have sucked and pumped at the same
time but I could be wrong. Also, does brake fluid need to flushed or are
they just trying to make money of me?
