I think it's a new manifestation of the bug... since the bug munged the
date, and that's what produces the extra digit, if for some reason there
were 2 extra digits, that would do it...  they have to go somewhere...

When I first needed to use QWK after Y2K, I dusted off my saved version
of his fix, too...  :)   It was indeed a lifesaver...
