You are correct. I forgot about that.
BTW, now that I have your attention. Can a list box be filled as a function
of updating a dialog box (Word 6)? Let me give you the entire scenario.
Each of our clients has three files in their client directory containing 1)
Names/addresses, 2) Just the names, and 3) the number of the names or
name/address groups in the previous two files. These are automatically
updated weekly. These three files are accessed by various macros for
letters, etc. Part of one file creation macro at the firm provides a listbox
of just the names (file 2). The macro uses file 3 to define the size of the
list box array and inserts the contents of file 2 into the listbox array,
which each line (name) of file 2 an element of the array.
All three files listed above have the client identifier (i.e., KELL for me)
as the first part of the file name, followed by .ADD, .LST, and .NAM,
respectively.
Finally, when one selects a name from the listbox of the current dialog box,
the macro takes that name, and picks the corresponding name/address group
from the .ADD file.
Now, I have been working at redesigning the macro--making it more
interactive. In my redesigned macro, I have a textbox for the user to type in
the client identifier. There is a push button to perform the action of
filling another textbox with the .ADD file (not working yet) and a listbox
filed with the .LST items (not working).
I have defined the dialog box to include a function--in fact, your FAX macro
that you shared some time ago has been a real help to me in designing this
and other macros. In this macro, the dialog box function would have to
redefine the listbox array based on what was typed in the textbox (KELL for
my "client" information) and fill the listbox with lines
from the corresponding .LST file.
This brings us to the original question: Can a listbox be filled as a
function of updating a dialog box? And, I guess I am asking, how?
Thanks, Bob.
