>>> Part 2 of 2...
All I _need_ Bell for is the provision of it's wires when called for: you can
imagine the savings that I've come enjoy over the years as a result ! Even
o,
with the coming of FO, ISDN and ASYN, it's plain to see that I'm going to
ave
to revise a *lot* if I am to be able to utilise these newer technologies in
the future: as it is, I'm still stuck "in the late Eighties" to an extent...
AA> I remember call Bell once and asked about "music on hold" and the
AA> person didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about.
Ahhh yes ! Bell's Customer Service Representatives. Absolutely famous for not
knowing what Bell is up to, even at the best of times or when they have an
Information Sheet right in front of their own noses ! But they're nice folks,
just the same...not always the most helpful, but nice... To be certain, Bell
has one of the most effective sales forces I have ever witnessed, and I'll
always respect Bell for that alone. Mind you, the attitude you write about
seems to be a prevalent one, whether one talks to a rep at a Bell store or a
rep from Business Systems. Of course, we'd _rarely_ get to speak to any of
Bell's most knowledgable people: the technicians. Or the engineering types
with Special Services: some of these people are just absolutely encyclodpedic
!
