Hmm, I'm not a bike engineer or anything, but wouldn't a softride be harder
on the bike? A suspension fork takes the pressure off of the hub and head-
set, but if you have a soft ride wouldn't all that jarring force be delivered
to your hub and head set? Just an idea. I also question handling and
performance. With my old rigid bike, if you hit a rock hard at an angle, the
bike would tend to skip to the side causing a loss in control. With the
JUDY, the front fork soaks up the rock and lets you move on with no loss
of control. I can see where softride would be nice on the wrists, but
wouldn't
a softride equipped bike tend to be jittery on rocky trails because when the
front wheel takes a hit it transfers it to the rest of the bike?
I definitely see it as a plus on a road bike because you obviously aren't
hitting any huge rocks, but I'm not convinced about on a mountain bike.
I'm sold on my JUDY XC :-)
