Way back when I first got WWIV working with FTN networks, I used FrontDoor.
 I had FrontDoor running for around a year before moving to InterMail.  

After going Internet only, I had no need for either.  I had packets going
UUEncode/Decoded via SMTP to my uplink using a custom WWIV utility and
Frank Reid's PPP Project.
