This is probably one of those areas where I am not going to comment, but
other then the oil pipeline thing (which I didn't see in the article) I am
not sure what you are complaining about. As far as I know the majority, if
not all, of the oil to the west will go through the BTC pipeline.

Northern Iran has been called "Southern Azerbaijan" for a long
time.  Best book I have read talking about the attitudes of some of the
people of Northern Iran towards the Iranian Government is "Azerbaijan
Diary" by Thomas Goltz.  He takes a side trip from Iran down through
that region. I don't think what he said is anything new or so unheard of in
that region.
