I found his show one night in the '70s and was hooked from the start.
But his show was often difficult to find, different hours on different
markets, seemed to come and go without warning, etc.
Back in the day I had my cassette recorder ready for when something was
played I wanted to keep. Those tapes all wound up in the dust bin of history
as time passed.
Dr Demento looked a little like a older version of a college friend
(working on his doctorate in history) and they had a similar sense of humour.
Duncan died a few years ago of kidney disease.
