> Hi Albert,
From what I've read the computer chip will be placed in the retina
and it is supposed to send signals so the eye can see. I am sure that
it would not be as good as seeing 20/20 and in fact maybe even only
the ability to see light and dark. I am not sure how good the drs
expect the patients to be able to see. And yes this is experimental,
I do not want to give anyone false hopes, it may not work. Because
the first tests for several years now have been done on rabbits. The
place where this experiment started out is the Massachussets eye and
Ear Infirmary. But years ago it was never thought that a person would
be able to get an artificial heart and now itis done with good
sucess. Who knows maybe this will be sucessful.
best wishes,
Deb
