This is actually off-topic here, but, I can't let this go unanswered.
I'm using one of those old OSes... and it's old enough that I'm pretty
well protected against any of the latest threats, without patches or the
latest security software... My DOS machine isn't going to get any of the
Windows viruses, etc, because there's no Windows to get it. Drawback is
only that I'm using text browsers and don't do java stuff, and can't
join all the people that want me on IM and Facebook etc... but I really
don't see much of that as a true drawback. If I really NEED something
that uses java, or a GUI browser, I let hubby fire up his machine which
DOES have Windows (98, I believe actually, maybe one of the newer ones
on another machine) and all the firewalls and virus protection etc, that
I don't need (and don't have space for on this machine anyway). I can
do what I want to do with what I have... My BlueWave reader (which IS
on-topic ) works just fine for me to do Fido messages in the areas I
care to participate in. I can telnet, do email, and use my computer for
what I need and want it to do.

Anyway... I do agree with Sean that this really isn't something to be
discussing here, so I'll leave it there. :)
