 Larger diameters should be slower. This is something
you'll have to experiment with. Too fast and you'll damage the drill bit.
Too slow and you'll get slow speed oscilations and jamming. For most
people, they don't slow down enough for the larger bits. Try to think of
the speed of the tip of the drill fluke as being the same as the 1/8"
you drilled with earlier. Once the edge is burned on a bit, it will have to
be carefully ground down to hard metal before it'll be good for anything
but cheese and butter. Dwight
