Hi Phil!
-> I recon that the best cable is highly insulated with a large surface
-> area and low resistance.
Add to that the shortest run possible to the speaker from the output
devices on the amp. I normally don't recommend this since it usually
voids most warantees.
-> PQ>> The article on Speaker cable involved some guy that has a
-> PQ>> SoundBlaster 16 and found that the 860hz sound he put in,
-> PQ>> when coming out
... all he got was usless information. I wonder how much bad science we
are going to be subjected to thanks to those trying to use game sound
cards as for "real test" equipment.
-> PQ>> of the amplifier had 0.6% distortion.
Makes it kind of hard to measure .01% distortion with test equipment
like that. No clue as to testing procedures were given, accuracy of the
test in other regards (taking account of other test variables usually by
using very expensive equipment with lots of knobs and very thick
manuals),
In speaker cable, the most effective "non scientific" test that I've
ever seen was one that Monster Cable used to do at the shows.. Have a
working sound system that is stable with another brand of cable. Switch
out to Monster cable, and it went into instant feedback. A dramatic
demonstration that Moster cable transfered more of what the amplifier
had to give more effiently that most cables. (Not a paid plug for
Moster Cable).
