I did find one occassion where locking at 115200 showed
some improvement. The system was using In-Joy to
connect to a local provider with IP masquarading 
turned on and I was  attempting to play Quake/2
from another system. I must say attempt, because I really
have to be one of the worst Quake players there is.
My other system only has a 14.4 modem, so if I want
to try playing Quake, I must route through the BBS
that has a 28.8.  
Afterwards,  I also tried using Netscape and 
ftp to see  if the faster baud rate showed 
improvement,  and it appeared that using 
the higher baud rate  did help.
However, I do not have an conclusive evidence,
it was just an impression.
