...regardless of that,Rick,the reason he wanted to do so,from the
context of his msg,was to set his machine up by it's existing config,and
then selectively remove items from mem...this is just not a viable way
to manage one's mem...by suggesting he prepare a multi-option
config-file set,I made him aware that he can selectively load
drivers optimized for each mode of operation...a much simpler,more
effective way to run the machine...all he must do is turn it on...the
menu appears and he can select from his list of configs,the one
appropriate to his intended purpose by the press of one key...the
machine will do the rest...to change the config,yes,he must re-boot...
a small inconvenience,especially considering it by comparison to booting
and dropping out devices to get enough to run his fave game...
also...since he would have to re-boot to re-install those same
devices for other operations...well...the point is rendered moot...
