Well, I have registered Telix, via the auto-registration, and I had
wrote very plainly on the form, 'send double density disks'. The
package came in a short time, I now have a nice printed manual,
although there really isn't any need for one, and a HIGH DENSITY disk!
Telix, for DOS, is definately designed to run in less than 640k, so
why would it need to be on a larger than 720k disk?
I think Telix is a good program. It does everything I need in a
quick and easy way. It was touted as a 'lean and mean communications
machine', but it also had way more that I don't need, like the host+
which I only tryed once to play a door-game by calling myself so I
would have no time limit(hehe) and that salt-simple I don't need as
for me the fun of bbsing is getting online interactively. And then
they added mouse support. Mousing slows you down. Some commands you
just can't do with a mouse, and it is always a guess as to which
button (left or right). I am sure glad that all the key commands
still work!
There, I have vented my steam. I will try to call their 800 number
tomorrow, but it will be Saturday so they may be closed, and I won't
have a weekday off untill the week after Christmass.
If I can't reach them Saturday, maybe someone here has a direct, fast
connection to delta. Too bad they don't participate in this fido
echo. I will post tomorrow night with the results of my trying to
call them.
