Maybe I missed the post where the discussion of medical marijuana
was declared to be off-topic in this echo? Maybe I'm being too literal,
but I never saw any post of the rules or by the moderator using the term
"off-topic" relative to medical marijuana. I apologize if I missed this,
and I am sure that the moderator will make a point of clearing this up
if it is so.
What I understood from what has made it to this bbs from
the ALTMED forum is that the moderator prefers that medical marijuana
not be discussed at length, that its legal status is not debatable, and
that discussion regarding it be within the law. Of course, flame wars
are always off-topic. Here is what I base my conclusion upon:

The fact is it IS illegal...
We can not suggest, recommend or I prefer not even discuss to any
great length the joys of doing illegal acts. ...

Alternative medicine is and probably always will be a controversial subject.
While you are free to chose whatever you want to do with and to your own
body, I
really do not want this echo to become something that will get into a long
heated discussion about something that is no matter who thinks it's right or
wrong illegal.

This echo is based in the US and accountable to it's laws, right wrong or
indifferent....this is NOT a debatable subject...PERIOD!

So, from here it looks like discussion permitted by law in the U.S. of
all alternative medicines is OK. This would include the discussion of
medical marijuana, and, for example, any of the other treatments such as
those for cancer for which people must leave the U.S. or go to a particular
part of the U.S. to get because of FDA or other bans. We just need to be
nice about it when someone has a different opinion -- no matter how
outrageous.
