Howdy! Bob,
It was me that caused all the fuss that Janis was told about.
I hadn't seen any messages in the Windows95 echo for 6 days and thought
something was broken in FIDONET and asked Daryl Stout and maybe Mike
Powell, my SysOp, about checking for me.
I was wrong, and since then Windows95 has been busy.
I saw a message from You in Classical Computing talking about getting
the TRS-80 Model I out.
Maybe You can help me with something that has been bothering me for
some time now.
IIRC, there was a Basic Program for the TRS-80 that drew a Star on the
monitor screen.
It was in a monthly magazine, I'm thinking it was either Popular
Elecronics or Radio-Electronics.
I convinced the wife I HAD to go to a Radio Shack store and type the
listing in and Run it to see it work.
When I Ran it, it didn't work like the picture in the magazine, so I
tried Editing a Line and got it to work.
I remember it started out with a character in the center of the Top Row
of the Screen.
The next Screen Row had two characters that made the shape of a upside
down Capital V start appearing.
Each of the other Screen Row had two characters following to start
showing more of the Inverted V until it got to the Middle Screen Row
where the character was repeated all the way across the screen.
When the program finished running the Star was on the screen until it
was Cleared.
Do You remember what magazine and what months issue that program came
in?
I still have my magazine issues from way before the TRS-80 Model I came
to the Radio Shack stores.
I have a book from Radio Shack called "Basic Conversion Handbook", that
shows how to convert Commodore PET, and Apple ][ programs to run on a
TRS-80 Model I or III , or convert TRS-80 BASIC programs to run on the
other two systems, and I would like to Run it on my Commodore 64 and
watch it Run.
Thanks and 73 .
