August,

DS> I never heard of a thing like that.

AA> It's the same people who rebuilt the furnace from it's original
AA> oil/AC to propane/AC. The only original component was the AC
AA> part. I guess the "wait time" is charactaristic of older AC
AA> units? BUT.. they could have at least told me so BEFORE they
 AA> decided to come over.

I'm supposed to get mine serviced in early May. It's working
properly...but if there's a threat of lightning, I turn if off,
because a power interruption could fry the compressor.

AA> I guess I could have fought over it. But I decided not to
AA> complain and just pay the d*mn thing. I haven't called them
AA> over for anything else since. People say that you should have
AA> "furnace checked" every pre-winter season. Screw that. I just
AA> maintain filter changes myself, and have never noticed a problem
 AA> since.

I had another unexpected bill overnight. The batteries in the
Schlage keyless door luck have failed, and I couldn't get inside
the house. The garage door is double locked from the inside, and
I don't have keys to the back door. So, Dr. Locksmith came by,
and was able to get me in. I was able tighten the door lock deal
back, and figure out how to lock the deadbolt...which I'll need
if the keyless lock has to stay unlocked for now. The thing is,
the small screw on the inside part of the door may be stripped,
or I don't have a small enough phillips type screwdriver, let
alone the strength, to turn it to get it off, and change the
batteries. The call cost me $165...I'll be glad when the next
COVID-19 stimulus arrives, or several of my expenses will be
HOT later this month. I have overdraft protection, but will be
hit with a $35 fee with each one.

AA>> That's the price we pay for wining and dining on sugars
AA>> and processed foods? :/ I think that we (as consumers)
AA>> can make better choices with the foods we eat so as to
AA>> mitigate the marshaling of health problems.

And, the processed foods are drowning in sodium...never mind
eating anchovies off pizza. :P

AA> The food industry has you brainwashed, successfully. You don't
AA> have to give up health for flavour. Take for example, the simple
AA> fruit of the pineapple. A fresh pinapple is amazing - drizzle
AA> some honey over a serving and it makes for a nice dessert on its
AA> own. The canned versions (pegged for convenience) are syrupy
AA> catastrophies and unnaturally boosted with sweeteners. But the
AA> fresh variety packs a nice punch of sweet completely naturally.

I haven't eaten that in awhile. I used to get the cups of fruit
cocktail, but have decided to shy away from those.

AA> All the more reason to keep the body fit, worthy of display and
 AA> OUT of those institutions.

I never thought I'd see the day when there'd be no taboo on products
like personal hygiene.

Daryl
