The smell of fresh baked bread in the morning is amazing/good.  My mom baked
several loaves on a regular basis during my teens. She used a special
custom-built "sunken counter top" a bit lower than a typical kitchen table
especially for that purpose so that kneading the bread in a bowl would be
easier
on the back.
