Not any more Rod. I am involved with a comnpany that markets a "total
solution" to practices and that includes medical records, scripts, drugs,
day-to-day records, pathology, recalls etc etc etc. We are just one of many
that are competing in this highly competitive market.
I'd guess and estimate about 40% of all doctors records are now
computerised. Much easier and a heck of a lot =less= room to store.
The "inducements" from the Government are almost forcing the change.
i.e. "recalls" are now the responsibility of the =doctor= in that the doctor
*has* to remind the patient that the patient is due to visit the doctor again
for their regular .
I'd also guess and say that by the years end, about 75% of all Australian
doctors surgeries will be computerised.
By the end of next year, an Australian Doctors surgery without
computerisation will be extremely rare.

Yes !! I like that last line. Responsibility for ones actions.
