=-> Quoting LORNE MURPHY to MARTIN RIDGLEY:
-=> From what I recall, Martin Ridgley said this to Lorne Murphy <=-
MR> It sounds to me as if he's more of a team player than Wakeman
MR> was. Moraz seems to listen to what's going on around him and his
MR> playing supports and enhances what the other musicians are doing.
LM> Well, again, this point may have proved invalid if Moraz had been
 LM> with the band longer.
Good point. You're right. One album (3 tracks) is hardly enough
 to judge that.
LM> But maybe not. I'm certainly not a Moraz hater by any means, just
LM> a Wakeman lover (with Yes, that is!)
And I'm certainly not slagging Wakeman. He's a great keyboard player.
But I think he tends to be over-rated, partly because of his flamboyance.
He seems to me to be more of an individualist than a band-oriented
 musician.
MR> Now that I think of it, I believe I heard _Yeshows_ some years ago
 MR> and decided I didn't need it. ;-)
LM> Good decision. Squire and White were the only two members that
LM> backed that project. The rest of the band were against it, but it
LM> was too late for them to do anything about it as it was already
LM> out! I think Wakeman heard about it after it had been released for
 LM> a week or two...

Hmmm... I didn't know that. Was Wakeman on it? Or Moraz? Or both?
LM> ...there's a lot of problems with that album, but it's of course
LM> necessary for the completist like you or myself.
LM> Great Dean cover too! :)
Hehehe.... yeah, I know the cover. But I'm not really a completist.
I'm only marginally interested in it - mainly if Moraz is on it.
MR> FWIW, he and Moraz have done a few albums together - just the two
MR> of them. Really interesting stuff.
LM> I've heard _Flags_, but not _Music for..._, though I will
LM> definitely pick it up if I see it around. I believe they met
LM> through Squire while playing on _Fish out of Water_, easily the
LM> best Yes solo album, IMO.
Hmmmm.... I didn't know that. Bruford and Moraz certainly seem to
 work well together.
MR> ..if you (or anyone reading this) know(s) of any other Patrick Moraz
MR> albums, please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated.
LM> Well I already mentioned _Coexistence_, which is somewhat rare.
Yeah, I'd never even heard of it until you mentioned it!
LM> You should definitely check into that. Also _Timecode_, and
 LM> the '72 self-titled _Mainhorse_ album.
I've got _Timecode_. What's _Mainhorse_, though?
LM> It was the first and only Yes album without Anderson, but it's
LM> excellent, IMO. It was basically mostly written by Howe/Squire/White,
LM> with later injections by Downes/Horn. There are some great songs
 LM> on it.
Okay. I'll keep my eye out for a copy of that one as well.
LM> Don't even bother with _Big Disappointment_.
Yeah, nobody seems to have that high an opinion of it, so I think
 I'll avoid it, too. ;-)
Thanks for all the info, Lorne.
   Cheers,
            Martin
