From: "Robert G Lewis"
Interesting. I have a real problem with the 'Money doesn't move until the
threat alert is lifted" part ( concerns about the rest but a real
problem there). While the money is in limbo is the person being charged
interest on the account ? Late Fees ? Can they earn interest on their money
in limbo?
How much is this costing the banks above any previous requirements ?
Not to mention the shear quantity of additional information for the
government to sift through, especially of the money doesn't move until the
alert is lifted. They will have to either increase resources or spend very
little time on each alert. And if the money doesn't move then the person
will know shortly, this is worse than the NY Times story saying cell phones
can be listened in on as the target will know ( unless they totally ignore
bank statements cc bills etc )..
Seems to be a worse than useless to me. It's one thing to track a targeted
individual or even do data mining. All this will do is provide lots of
useless information that HAS to be dealt with.
