BG>> people actually prefer them to the Austel model. For example, the current BG>> US SDL had added Distinctive Ring, CID, Carrier Loss Redial, and an BG>> X-modem SDL loader (no longer platform dependant), plus a few bug-fixes. BG>> Austel Couriers will likely not have these features for quite a while yet. JP>> Ah. I didn't import mine from the US though. Despite the extra features in JP>> the non-Austel approved Couriers, I'm happy to wait until they become JP>> available in the Australian models. BG> You may not be so complacent when you learn that there is generally a delay BG> of between 12-18 months before US feature upgrades are added to 061 SDLs. JP>> I already have a modem which can do more than most, so JP>> I have no grounds to complain. :-) BG> I bet you change your tune quick smart when CID becomes available locally, BG> yet your modem still doesn't support it. Same with Distinctive Ring, which BG> is already available here - pity your Austel Courier can't use it. According to reasonable rumor, we've done a unique Distinctive Ring, that nobody else has hardware to decode. If so, I just _wonder_ what local manufacturer might have thought of THAT wonderful idea. :-( Regards, Dave Hatch. --- Msgedsq 3.20* Origin: Ministry Support Group (3:711/808) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 624/300 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 899 SEEN-BY: 711/932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 @PATH: 711/808 934 |
