NP> I agree. That's why I don't count on the NRA to do my letter writing
NP> for me. As my stickers say "I'm the NRA, and I vote."
I do my own letter writing, calling and faxing, also. But it is nice
to have all the organizations behind me (us).
PN> The _only_ way to have an influence on an organization is to be a

PN> organization can and should ignore you.
NP> I disagree. So do you in fact. If you hurt an organization enough,
NP> the organization will acknowledge and react to you.
I'm not trying to suggest that we hurt any organization. If the
organization is not in sync with what we want, we need to determine can
we change it, or do we go to another, or do we form our own or go it
alone.
I _do_ suggest that the NRA is of _help_ to a greater degree than
hindrance. Is it always right? Nope. Will I ever agree with it
totally? You all hope not . But the NRA is the 500# gorilla, and
it is dangerous to ignore.
And I stand behind what I said above, but wil doing so there are folks
around who are hearing some of the things that I and others like me are
saying that could be improved.
NP> Remember the things you've said about politics and the effect and
NP> effectiveness of third parties on both the democratic and republican
NP> parties?
Huh?
Third parties can have an effect. But if I'm registered with party a,
we can't expect party b, or c, to care what I want. If the party won't
see things my way, then I have to either choose a new party, start my
own or give up.
I ain't got any give up in me...although I do find myself wavering
oncet in a while .
