subject: Listening Area From Hell !

My listening area seems just a reverse of yours. I have been in
quieter and cozzier artillery attacks! The room has a cathedral ceiling,
which is the only thing good about the room.
It is about 16 wide by 24 long. Ceramic tiles floors. One full length
side wall on the left side. No wall on the right side. Two huge sliding glass
doors on the side wall and a large window further down the wall. The speaker
on the side with the wall can sit no more than 18 inches from the wall. Talk
about a lively room! I have been treating, tweaking and experimenting for
several years. Finally I have slowed things down and quieted the room where I
have very good sound. But not the best I could have, were it in another room
somewhere.
We are currently planning to move in the fall and find a home with a
more ideal listening area. Thankfully, my wife has gotten into the Home
Theater end of all this, so it didn't take as much of a pitch. Actually, it
was her idea.....but for different reasons.
Cheers, John
