 After reading Dale's comments I have to conclude that your problem lies
 in the reediting of packets in BW2.12.  I use BW2.30 and have not had
 the problem in either QWK packets or BW packets.  I use both as I use 3
 different BBS's two of which have QWK and the third has both but I use
 the BW door.
