G'morning Brendon,

BT> I'm surprised you might be nodding off while there's a war on.

You caught me away from the machine, looking after a (victorious)
team of mountain-bikers down in Rotorua ... watched the BBC for
what passes for my happy computer hour, and decided again that
the military have both the media and the Iraqis spinning their
wheels. I'm surprised Helen didnt volunteer a detachment of OSH
to spearhead the charge...

BT> It's a pity these things can't be fought between the pollies
BT> who start them, instead of the people the pollies stand behind.

Deciding truths by force is only slightly worse than doing it by
discussion. Confusing the outcome by pitting Saddam's personal
skills against those of Bush and/or Blair would'nt alter that...

BT> Methinks there would then be less wars, and we could do with a
 BT> few less politicians anyway.

An international team of Bobbies and Magistrates might achieve
both worthy ends .... forgetting for the moment that the honest
village copper ain't universally experienced by the citizens of
this planet.

I have moments where a vision of PC Smith knocking on Saddam's
door to the cringing consternation of onlookers has a real warmth
to it.

Silly me.

:-))
