There are always people who will read messages in any "open" message forum 
without ever posting messages which would give their "presence" in the forum 
away.  The commonly accepted name for them is "lurkers".
Whether some of the lurkers in this echo are from the "other" camp is totally 
unknown since there is no way to know who they are.  But over time (a lot of 
years now) there have been instances where certain search "techniques", 
sources, etc. have been described in this echo only to have those sources of 
information suddenly be closed off to the general public's easy access.  I 
will not go into any specifics - suffice it to say that doors that were open 
have been closed and in all too many instances, those doors were SLAMMED shut 
rather abruptly!
There are also groups of people (some lawyers, judges, congressmen, etc.) 
that do everything they can to try to put as many roadblocks in our way as 
they can.  Lawyers who have no ethical problem with falsifying a date of 
birth on an ammended birth certificate. Congressmen who will do everything in 
their power to keep adoptees from being able to ever find their b-parents 
(this actually happened in Wisconsin!)

I do not think there are people out there that are waiting specifically for 
Doug Whiteside to post whatever information he as somehow managed to obtain 
so they can swoop down on him and arrest him and throw him into some deep, 
dark dungeon.
