Well, I can't really recommend a 24 inch with 1.25 inch thick glass, so I'd
say that 22 inches is about max.  When you get to the 24 inch size, it is
so floppy and flexible that I really suggest 2 inch though you can make it
work with the 1 5/8 inch thick stuff with effort.  It's not only avoiding
astigmatism but it's figuring the very flexible blank that can be
frustrating.
