Contamination on the surface of a rock?  Certainly possible, and very
likely.
 
Contamination by living creatures INSIDE a rock?  IMO, only VERY slightly
more likely than the "two-way pool shot of all time"!
 
Has anyone considered the possibility that that rock was formed on THIS
planet and never left?  COULD it have been formed during some primevel
time at some other location here, then "blown" to where it was found by
a volcanic eruption at some time in the past?
 
Just a thought...
