Troy, I couple my AOR1000 XLT to the CB antenna of the FedEx tractor I
drive.  It's entirely adequate.  I've even tuned some shortwave broadcasts
HCJB, Radio Nederland, Voice of Free China...  It receives the Highway Patrol 
bands as well.
