-> Most newer sets (i.e.: 7-10 years old) incorporate a built in
-> degaussing coil. It is not very powerful. If equipped, the coil
-> only operates for a few seconds after turning the set on, and usually
-> is already turned off before the tube warms up enough to see a
-> picture. If the problem does not go away on its own in a few weeks,
-> you may have to get a degaussing coil, usually only carried by a TV
-> service center.
Thanks for the input. I got it fixed, I think. It cured itself within
a day except for a small strip across the middle of the screen. I took
a smaller magnet and waived it up and down and side to side across the
front of the set. After a few tries, I got it cured. It had me scared
at first, though! :)
Anyone have any suggestions for my CCD problem (the mini dots
appearing)?
