Do you mean the physical location, or how to do it in the configs?
For starters - where is your regular OUTBOUND area? When I ran multizone
Opus, I had all my OUTBOUNDS off D:\MAIL\, so I had D:\MAIL\OUTBOUND
D:\MAIL\OUTBOUND.063 etc. In my Opus control file, I had multiple MATRIX
areas! NACL complains about it but will compile it as specified. I had
multiple copies of OMMMM.CFG - like OMMM.CFG, OMMM9.CFG, etc (trying to use
a ref to each zone in the name, just as a mind jogger for me!) You don't
need multiple MATRIX areas defined if you never have to send netmail with the
"right" node address for that zone (e.g, turning on echos and such)
There is an undocumented command line form of OMMM for using
alternate config files - its been a long time, but I "think" its OMMM -h
OMMM2.cfg
Sorry I am not exact, but its been quite a while since I ran the old bird
here.
I toss with GUS and SQUISH now - tho i did use SQUISH in *.MSG form with Opus
near the end and it osses zone aware just fine! On OMMM, others can correct
me if I erred in the syntax. Anyway - for the basic stuff of doing
zone-aware echos - you just need to be sure you merge the othernet nodelist
into the fido nodelist when you run XLAX (or whatever), so Opus/OMMM/Bink can
find the addresses and numbers. Use your othernet addresses in those Echos,
and it all should work ok. Netmail is the tricky part.
I do recommend using a front-end mailer like Binkley as its more
powerful that the basic Opus mailer and can deliver multiple zones to a
common address - Opus's mailer had a problem with that - if you need to do
that.
If I am confused in what you are asking, just clarify what you need
and someone can help you, I am sure. Worst case - maybe I can find some time
to unpack a tape backup of my Opus BBS and check the configs for you, tho it
may be a week or so before I can get to it. Or maybe Jan or someone has one
of my old messages on how to do this and can repost it here. Good luck.
