Hello Jay,
JF> Is is 2.0 compatable.
My ESP skills are lacking. Want to try again?
The file you need to locate is fax_pat1.zip. From the readme:
1. fax mode "class 2"
Only supported (better: used) is the fax mode "2". Your modem must
have this mode. Note: not fax mode "class 2.0" - it's "class 2"!
   FAX 9000 sends: at+fclass=2
   expected is: OK
otherwise: immidiate hang up and error message

How to test if your modem is compatible:
- run a normal terminal program, ie. GeoComm, or what ever you prefer,
- enter "at+fclass=2"
- if the modem says "OK" continue, otherwise the first test is failed
= end.
We are both using the same modem. "The OLDER sportster". I have the
v.34+ eprom on this internal, but for what we need to see, they are
the same.

Configuration Profile...
Product type US/Canada Internal
Options V32bis,V.FC,V.34+
Fax Options Class 1/Class 2.0
Clock Freq 20.16Mhz
Eprom 256k
Ram 32k
Supervisor date 08/29/95
DSP date 07/05/95
Supervisor rev 6.0.6
DSP rev 1.2.4
OK
Now the test:
at+fclass=2
ERROR
and again
at+fclass=2.0
OK
I used to use DosFax PRO. I now use the full version of FaxWorks PRO
for OS/2. Most of the time it works satisfactorily with Ensemble.

Doug
