  Movies seldom follow the book they are based on.
  Plus, in a book it will take paragraphs to explain something that in a
film is a look/glance, movement, etc, is all it takes to convey the situation.

  A lot of A and B actors of the '30s and '40s wound up doing horror type
films.  Films they wouldn't have touched during "their day".
  Price always seemed the perfect fit for just about every part he played. 
He could be witty and charming, or sinister.  Sometimes both at once. 
  He really hammed it in the Hammer Poe movies.  (Often with those the only
part of Poe that was used was the title).
  He, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre were always good in whatever part they
had in those and could really let go and let the ham fly, with a wink and a
nod.  :)

  I used to be mistaken for Tom Cruise and later Matt Damon, but I kept
