| subject: | P0740 code. |
Over the last month or so, I just started seeing the check engine light come on in the Durango. The error is P0740. I am almost positive it is the Torque Converter, not the sensor. I would imagine this is an after-effect to the radiator explosion that allowed anti-freeze to get into the transmission. Just as a last resort, I put some stop slip stuff in the transission fluid to see if it will eventually have a positive effect. It could just be the fluid is still not 100% after that problem and this additive might help. If not, the only real way to fix this is a new torque converter. That will most likely be a complete transmission rebuild - around $2000. Will see if the additive has any positive effect after the next month or so. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.50* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 620 848 953 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
