FWIW: some systems do have problems with "too old mail"...
indeed, some fidonet systems will trap them as duplicates or
regurgitations... MSGIDs in fidonet are supposed to cover at least three
years but may cover more... misdated mail is a bad problem... even today,
my system traps and corrects misdated mail sent from systems where the
sysop is still running y2k buggy software ;-(
