From: "Eric Royer" To: Reply-To: "Eric Royer" Hello, after 1 year of designing, grinding, polishing and building, I am happy to present my new binoscope. It is a dual 150 mm f/8.25 newtonian. I had first light 2 weeks ago, and I have observed as much as possible with it since. The views are great. Open clusters are the best : the faint stars that are difficult to see with one eye are easy with 2 eyes, which make the clusters appear "richer". My best view so far was that of Jupiter in M44 with a feeling of depth in the view. Pictures and a description can be seen at : http://perso.club-internet.fr/eroyer/Binoscope/Bino150Intro.html It's only in French for now, but most of the photos are self explaining. At low power (38x), it is really easy to use. I had not much time for deepsky observing because of the Moon. Just a few galaxies and open clusters, so I hope the sky will be clear next week. The telescope needs some improvements for easy high power observing, but it is already quite useable. I have been able to see Io in front of Jupiter at 200x. I could never see that in my 200mm f/4.6. This morning I observed Mars and could see a polar cap. I am really happy with this telescope and I want to thank those on the list who sent me some advice during the construction.
