I know that up until very recently Philips marketed an AM/FM/SW/Cassette
radio in the United States, the DC-777. Possibly some supply shop still has
one of these in stock. Also Becker markets a SW car cassette stereo, the
Becker Mexico. You might be able to find one of these units at a car audio
retailer or possibly through a shortwave/ham vendor. I know that Grundig
makes car SW units, but I do not know if they are marketed in the US or
where you might be able to get one of those units.
If you want more info on the above, I rembember seeing a review of the
Philips unit in a previous Passport to World Band Radio (1994?) and I know
that WRTH has run reviews of car SW radios. Possibly other ham/SWL
periodicals may have carried reviews of the above also.
