Let's not get distracted from the fact that both major political
parties have lost their way.
Both parties spend most of their time trying to give the appearance
of serving the people while they spend most of their efforts
criticizing the other side of the isle and padding their own bank
accounts.

And in the process increase government spending with said programs
while they make speeches about how we need to cut back our spending.
People spend more time listening to their speeches and less time
looking at their mismanaged budgets that are getting increasingly
out of control.
