If the mouths of or the action of a few idiots directly harmed the
political party they belonged to, then the Democrats would have issues as
well.

As to not being able to attract black voters, FDR and LBJ are the ones
responsible for that, as the Democrats learned how to keep a voting bloc
captive under the guise of "WE are from the Govt, we are here to help
you".
