GaryW mentioned that that Bush may have been given conflicting advice about the possibility of levee failures *before* the storm hit. Given the facts, I find that to be impossible to believe. Wasn't it you who recently pointed to a two-year old National Geographic article that accurately predicted the flooding events? Anyway, here's the link, along with two others, from a 2001 Scientific American issue, and from a series done by the New Orleans Times-Picayune in 2002. http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/0410/feature5/ http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?articleID=00060286-CB58-1315-8B5883414B7F0000 http://www.nola.com/hurricane/index.ssf?/washingaway/thebigone_1.html --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
