Actually, Jim, I've been asking myself that question over the past
weeks, maybe months. I'm not sure why I'm still here. I keep wanting
IA to turn into something dynamic. But maybe it can't, and won't. I
have certainly been considering dropping IA, and TMT, and maybe even
Native Network (although I'm a little less likely to drop that). I know
what I'm getting from FIDO Poetry and from RIME writers. But I'm real
uncertain, anymore, what I'm getting from this conference; or how to
chnage this conference so I do get more out of it. Maybe the time is
coming when I will retreat from the cyberspace rez altogether. I will
almost certainly slow down on it during the summer. There's a lot to do
around here now that it's getting warm; and I simply won't have as much
time.
I got involved with BBSing after my daughter died, as a way of escaping.
It was something I had never done around or with her. It was a new
world for me. And it was wonderful. I have learned a lot from it.
What I truly don't know at this point, however, but will figure out in
the next couple of months, is whether I want to stay with it anymore. I
have met some wonderful people through the boards. And I would certainly
miss them. But then some of the wonderful people I've met have drifted
away already. Drifting away from one another is just a part of life, I
think.
In any case, if either you or I should drift away, or we both do, I
shall miss you. You have kept a dynamic and interesting dialogue going.
