Hi Thom..

Exactly what I mean I used to be able to lose weight on a high protein diet. 
Now that I am taking insulin. I can keep my blood sugars under control if on 
a strict low carb diet, but can't lose weight worth a darn. I heard it was 
because of taking insulin. I did not know that was true.

Ahh, ok, I take Glucophage, which sounds similar in type. It is supposed to 
make my insulin receptors more sensitive to the insulin I take. That may be 
part of my problem also. I had not heard that.

Well, I about 4 years ago, got real sick, dropped a lot of weight quickly and 
thought I had a bad case of the flu that would not let go. Finally got sent 
to endocrinologist and dragged myself in there. After the tests and physical, 
he sent me home with insulin. Called me up that afternoon and slapped me in 
the hospital for two weeks as I was in acidosis and my body was eating away 
at itself. ( real quick way to lose weight ) . so since then, I have to 
say to be honest, It has been a stuggle for me to watch the weight and the 
blood sugars. But I try, sometimes I grow concerned, as my body reacts 
differently, now that I am on meds.
